Coaching has something to benefit everyone, at any point in their lives. People who come to see a coach are usually wanting to change something in their lives to become happier and more fulfilled.
Coaching differs from other talking therapies, such as counselling, in that they tend to focus on analysing emotions and issues from the past, whereas coaching is more forward and action focused. If you are prepared to invest time on yourself and happy to be challenged with new ideas, then coaching is certainly for you.
I will be a non-judgemental, objective partner and my only goal is to help you realise your potential and achieve your dreams. Some people see me as their personal cheerleader as I will encourage, motivate and support you towards your goals and over the obstacles in your way. I will also share with you techniques and exercises and provide constructive feedback in a process which is totally confidential.
The initial free session is focused on explaining the coaching process, my style of coaching and understanding what you would like to get out of the coaching.
Follow on sessions are based on identifying where you are now with your issues and where you ideally want to be. You can then explore options and agree actions to carry out before the next session. We will also look at your, self-esteem and confidence, values and beliefs, and your behaviour and motivation. Having identified the barriers that are preventing you from moving forward, we would use techniques and exercises to enable you to over come those barriers. As coaching is not prescriptive but is based on the individuals needs, the structure will vary according to each client.
The number of sessions required depends very much on the individual, however I would say clients generally have between 3 and 8 sessions. As your coach my goal is to help you achieve the goal you identified or to pass onto you the skills and techniques so you can coach yourself and continue your journey.
